Economic Development

As a County Supervisor, I’m proud of the steps we’ve taken to strengthen Ventura County’s economy and ensure long-term vitality for our communities. We’ve advanced key components of the Economic Vitality Strategic Plan—focusing on workforce readiness, infrastructure investment, industry growth, and housing development. In June 2024, we initiated important amendments to the Economic Vitality Element of the Ventura County General Plan. These updates are designed to promote a resilient economy that secures sustainable funding for essential public services, supports a vibrant and competitive business environment, and fosters job creation, retention, and long-term economic stability.
In partnership with the Resource Management Agency, we’ve streamlined permitting processes and modernized safety codes to make development more efficient and business-friendly. Additionally, by investing in affordable housing and critical infrastructure, we’re laying the foundation for economic resilience and inclusive growth. These efforts reflect our deep commitment to building a strong, future-ready economy that benefits every resident of Ventura County.
