Homeless Efforts in Ventura County

Homeless

Tackling homelessness is one of the most urgent and important priorities of my time in office. Ventura County has taken a comprehensive and coordinated approach to this challenge—focusing on prevention, housing, support services, and long-term stability. I’m proud to support and help advance our county’s homelessness plan, which brings together public agencies, nonprofits, and local leaders to create real, lasting change for individuals and families in need.

Our strategy includes innovative programs like Project RoomkeyHomekey, and the Behavioral Health Bridge Housing Program (Homekey +), which provide immediate shelter and support while helping transition individuals into Permanent Supportive Housing. We’re also leveraging the expertise and efforts of agencies such as the Sheriff’s Homeless Liaison Unit, Public Works, the Health Care Agency, and the Human Services Agency to deliver wraparound services and drive meaningful outcomes. Through these collaborative efforts, we have seen decreases in the number of unhoused in our community each of the last two years. I’m committed to working not just to manage homelessness—but to reduce it and prevent it, building stronger, healthier communities across Ventura County.
